1 Gigabit capable circuit with the Connect Westminster Scheme
Westminster City Council has recently secured £2.8m to deliver an ERDF funding project that aims to connect SMEs within Westminster and the West End Partnership area to 1Gb capable internet connections.
Assembly understands the importance that connectivity has on business. Empowering people with the right tools is key to a company’s success. The right technology environment also plays an important role in enhancing your employees’ productivity.
It’s widely acknowledged that raising productivity is essential to securing a prosperous future for business and the UK economy as a whole.
The pace of change in IT can be exhausting, and no area of our industry changes faster than internet connectivity. The available speeds & technologies seem to shift almost daily, which is why you need a partner that always has their finger on the industry’s pulse.
The Connect Westminster Voucher scheme was set to end on the 31st March 2021.
The project has now been extended for a further 12 months. As with previous extensions this is purely a time extension and there is no increase in the total funding available.
31st December 2021 – Final date for issuing vouchers (or once all funding is allocated)
31st March 2022 – Final date for voucher payments and project close
So far, the project has achieved:
- 978 approved applications
- 747 voucher payments (£1.4m of funding)
- Average download speed increase of 2,254% for voucher recipients
- Average upload speed increase of 10,170% for voucher recipients
