With an ever-increasing dependence on IT systems for business operations, a business continuity and disaster recovery solution is about building and improving the resilience of the network and IT assets within your organisation. Our fully managed server and disaster recovery service helps you maintain essential functions during and after a disaster has occurred.

Examples of severity include:

File loss – loss of individual files through server error, deletion, incorrect data loaded
System loss – loss of server due to fire, flood, theft, hardware failure
Displacement – loss of office infrastructure

The size and scope of a business continuity plan depends on the criticality of your systems data, industry regulatory compliance, and how quickly certain components would need to be restored, but in most cases a solid business continuity solution is a lot simpler than you’d expect. And our Tier 2, N+1 redundant data centres mean that we can have you back up and running in the shortest time possible.

At the heart of business continuity is a powerful solution that backs up nominated servers every night in a format that is restorable. In the event that you loose a server or you had a hardware failure, we can recover your entire server onto new or repaired hardware within 4hours (subject to data volumes).

Disaster recovery strategy

A robust disaster recovery plan is an essential part of any business strategy. Assembly will work with you to define your RPO (Recovery Point Objectives) and RTO (Recovery Time Objectives) for key services and data before designing and deploying the most appropriate solution for your business.

Deployment services

It’s one thing having a robust disaster recovery plan, but who will implement it in the event of a disaster? It may seem obvious, but if we put your disaster recovery plan together, it’s probably a good idea if we manage the implementation process if it should be necessary. Otherwise you risk losing valuable time and data whilst another company tries to find out your Recovery Time Objectives, Recovery Point Objectives and Maximum Tolerable Outage. Fortunately, all of our disaster recovery plans include implementation services as standard unless specifically requested otherwise.

Cloud server availability

We can take a snapshot of your systems and data at any intervals from every 15 minutes to every 4 hours. Many clients are happy to have this stored as a flat file which we can use to restore systems in the event of a failure, but if you’re looking for a solution that minimises downtime even further, then we can have a dedicated cloud server primed and ready to deploy. You’ll literally be back up and running before you even know you have a problem.

Cloud back-up

Increasingly, your data is your business. If all your client data was lost, how would you get it back? How long would that take? What would that cost in terms of downtime? Our cloud back-up services allow you to automatically send your encrypted data securely to our data centre where it can be accessed and restored at short notice. It’s safe, secure and efficient and has none of the human error risks associated with traditional tape back-up.

Site-to-site replication

Site-to-site replication is essentially real-time replication of your live application data on a secondary server in our data centre. If you can’t afford to lose a single scrap of data in the event of a disaster, this is strongly recommended. We have decades of experience of building site-to-site replication into many of our data centre solutions, so if this is something you think you might need, speak to one of our specialists.

There is no good reason to delay getting to grips with the cloud, IT security, data management and compliance. Research shows that companies that fail to embrace digital transformation will no longer be competitive.
